This Italian red is medium bodied with red berry

Sangiovese with a little Cabernet blended in. The

Sangiovese gives red cherry fruits and high acidity

whilst the cabernet gives darker berry fruits,

body & accessibilità. Very easy to drink.

Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2005                     £53.00

Mischief and Mayhem is a playful journey of two friends,

one from England and one from Australia, setting out to unearth the greatest wines of Burgundy. They produced

this Gevrey-Chambertin from Pinot Noir vines with an

average age of nearly 45 years, spread between several excellent sites around the ancient village of

Gevrey-Chambertin and planted in limestone, clay &

pebbly soils. The growing season and harvest in 2005

were superb and the concentration, balance & ripeness

of fruit were all excellent. Bottled after 14 months in

barrel, this is a wine of real fruit character,ripeness and purity.

 

 

 

 

 

SOUTH AFRICA

Steenberg Merlot 2007, Constantia                       £28.00

From the Western coast of South Africa which benefits

from cooling winds coming off the sea. This Merlot is

aged in 2nd or 3rd fill oak casks giving it soft tannins

which combined with the juicy Merlot fruit and minty

aromas, create the signature red wine style of South Africa.

 

Mulderbosch Faithful Hound 2004 Stellenbosch   £29.50

An unforgettable wine, once you taste it, you stay faithful

to it. A blend of 47% Cabernet, 30% Merlot,

5% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot

this wine is full bodied, rich and long. My favourite!

 

SPAIN

Gustales Crianza 2005, Bodegas Navajas, Rioja  £26.00

A traditional style Rioja which has been barrel aged

for a limited period giving the wine asmooth rich flavour

with a soft balance and delicious hints of vanilla.

 

 

USA

Fess Parker, Syrah 2003, Santa Barbara, CA       £32.00

This wine is rich and peppery with flavours of

dark cherry, blackberry & spice.
